Yerevan State Medical University |

Another famous higher educational institute of Armenia is the Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi, where highly professional medical staff are trained. During 70 years of its existence the University has paved a rich historical way and plays a major role in the training of medical personnel.
The faculties or departments are the structures which organize the academic process. These faculties are: General Medicine. Stomatology, Pharmacy and Military Medicine. After graduating from the University the students enter Intermesh or Residency. The main units m the academic process are the Chairs, where students, interns and residents get their education. Almost all the theoretical Chairs are located in the three blocks of the University. The Clinical Chairs are located in the University Hospital and other hospitals and clinics of Yerevan. There are 661 representatives of the teaching staff including 8 academicians and 122 doctors of medical science. In addition, there are 375 candidates studying for the doctor of medical science in the various Chairs.
Training is carried out in Armenian- Russian and English languages. Students study theoretical and clinical disciplines according to the academic curriculum of the faculty.
The Students' Scientific Society and numerous sport and culture clubs are organized by the Students' parliament and these undoubtedly play an important role in their life.
